Hotel Edouard 7 **** is an elegant setting in the heart of one of the most sought-after districts of the capital. Nestled on Avenue de l’Opéra, in the 2nd district of Paris, the historic establishment enjoys fascinating proximity to Place Vendôme and Haussmann Boulevard, renowned for its haute couture boutiques and prestigious buildings. It is here, at the foot of the Opéra Garnier, that families looking for a chic and luxurious stay can leave their suitcases.

Thanks to its perfect location, the hotel has easy access to public transport, making it very easy to get here from Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport (45′) and Paris-Orly airport (40′). Upon request, the establishment organizes transfers for its guests. Tribes taking the railway to come and explore Paname also benefit from this service, from the train stations of Lyon, Saint-Lazare, Austerlitz, Montparnasse, East and North.

At first glance, Hotel Edouard 7 **** is above all a beautiful Haussmann-style building that subtly blends into an elegant and noble decor, with the Opera Garnier as a backdrop. As soon as they arrive, families are astonished by so much refinement, but once the doors open, the enchantment gives way to fascination.

Former residence of Edward VII, King of the United Kingdom and Emperor of India from 1901 until his death in 1910, the building has retained its original elegance. When you arrive, the welcoming and courteous staff will tell you the history of this place steeped in memories where you will find:

  • 69 rooms and suites
  • 1 restaurant
  • 1 bar
  • 1 shop
  • 1 fitness room
  • 1 unique concierge service
  • 1 incredible babysitting service for your little ones

The original spirit of the house still floats in the air: Hotel Edouard VII pays homage to the two great loves of the late His Majesty: women and fashion. Blending the charm of classicism and contemporary design, the decoration of the rooms reflects the universe of Parisian haute couture to perfection. Indeed, the establishment offers two collections: Couture (decoration rich in motifs and a blend of materials) and Edouard 7 (inspired by Place Vendôme and offering rooms named after precious stones).

For a family of 3 people, Little Guest recommends the Deluxe Room, with an extended bathroom with shower, the Junior Suite spread over a beautiful 50 m² surface area with a bedroom with sitting area and a bathroom with separate bath and shower, or the Suite with decoration similar to a real Parisian apartment.

Some of these rooms and suites offer an incredible view of the Opéra Garnier from their balcony, or of the rooftops of Montmartre. Can you spot the Sacré-Cœur?

The icing on the cake: in order to benefit from the free addition of a baby bed in your room (service valid for Deluxe Rooms, Junior Suites and Suites) and/or to book two connecting rooms, please make sure to make your request directly to your Little Guest Travel Designer when making your reservation.

The restaurant “La Cuisine de l’E7” immerses you into its modern and chic universe where you are offered a menu signed by Chef David Braido. Subtle and inventive, its menus are harmoniously elaborated with fresh and seasonal products. Who wouldn’t fall for a succulent organic Aberdeen black Angus rib of beef fed with clover or a delicious sardine smoked with argan wood? ¿ Because children are sometimes difficult to convince, the Chef himself has concocted a children’s menu to satisfy the delicate taste buds of your little ones. No one will be left hungry for more.

The couture spirit follows you to the E7 bar and its Lounge, whose floor is covered with a Prince of Wales motif, in a nod to the oldest resident of the place. The atmosphere invites you to relax at the end of the day with a signature cocktail for parents and a well-deserved sweet or savoury snack for children.

Children are kings at Hotel Edouard 7!

To ensure their fulfilment, some rooms of this charming establishment can communicate with each other. Indeed, a Superior Room combined with a Superior or Deluxe Room will offer you a vast, cosy and comforting space that can accommodate up to 5 people, including 1 baby. On request, and subject to availability, a baby bed can be placed in the room.

After a beautiful day strolling in the streets of Paris, the foodies have only one idea in mind: join the hotel restaurant which offers a delicious children’s menu to accompany Mum and Dad in their gastronomic discoveries. Bonus: ultra-comfortable high chairs are available for the little ones.

Note that it is possible to hire the services of a qualified babysitter. To take advantage of this service, simply ask your personal Little Guest advisor.

Outside the hotel, the city is full of must-see places that your little ones are sure to love! The Musée en Herbe, for example, offers fun and unique experiences: no wonder all the schools in the capital rush to get there! Depending on their age, little ones hone their prodigious creative talents at the Baby Z’Ateliers (from 2 and a half to 4 and a half years old) or the Maxi Z’Ateliers (from 5 to 12 years old) during which they create their own work of art inspired by the street artist L’Atlas.

For the curious, adventurers and explorers, Visites Spectacles Paris has designed numerous visits in the form of shows, surveys and storytelling to discover the city. The Marvellous Legend of the Tuileries, the Inquiry of the Royal Palace and The Eternal Spirit of Montmartre are so many titles that herald unforgettable afternoons in the company of Molière, Jean-Jacques de la Tour or Napoleon.

The Hotel Edouard 7’s Concierges Clefs d’Or suggest to the guests a large number of activities. The Right Bank of Paris enjoys an extraordinary architectural heritage, exciting museums and promises long romantic walks.  Don’t hesitate to ask our Travel Designers for their best advice, as well as to consult our 100% kids-friendly articles on the City of Lights, such as this guide for a chic weekend in Paris, which lists the best destinations, or to experience slow life in Paris for a relaxing stay.

Nestled just a few steps from the hotel, the Jardin des Tuileries, the oldest and largest garden in Paris, reveals itself as a landscaped masterpiece with century-old trees planted during the Second Empire. During the walk, many fun activities are available for children. After a ride on the merry-go-round, the youngest can guide small wooden boats rented on-site on the octagonal basin. During this time, their parents can relax on the provided chairs. A true open-air sculpture museum, the park offers both ancient and contemporary works of art by renowned artists such as Louise Bourgeois and Eugène Trutat. In the same vein, Little Guest warmly recommends a good family stroll on the Quays of the Seine or the Avenue de l’Opéra. For time travel, head for Saint-Germain-des-Prés, renowned as the artists’ district, once adored by Sartre and Camus, among others.

Art lovers couldn’t dream of anything better. The city nicknamed the City of Eternal Love contains museums and sites of illustrious interest. Just a few steps from Hotel Edouard 7, the Palais Garnier unrolls its monumental staircase, which you climb step by step to approach timidly the famous painted ceiling, a legendary work by Marc Chagall. The fruit of a year’s work, this giant canvas was officially revealed to the general public in September 1964. A declaration of love to music and life.

Another must-see is the Louvre museum where thematic visits are organized, as well as artistic workshops in which it is possible to take part with your family. To continue your aesthetic escapade, Hotel Edouard 7 and Little Guest suggest the Grévin Museum where The Little Prince and his friends the Fox and the Rose are hiding, the Chocolate Museum for gourmets, the Orsay Museum, or the Madeleine Church in the 8th arrondissement.

And why not attend a musical with your children? Great classics are planned for 2020 such as The Little Mermaid, The Jungle Book, Pinocchio, or The Lion King. Are you curious? Discover the programme on the official website of the Théâtres Parisiens Associés.

Paris is undeniably one of the best shopping destinations, and for good reason! Galeries Lafayette on Boulevard Haussmann make fashion addicts from all over the world dream thanks to their French luxury brands, such as Cacharel and Yves Saint Laurent. Equally prestigious and majestic, Le Bon Marché and Le Printemps display their impressive façades and open the doors to the haute-couture paradise.

So yes, Hotel Edouard 7 does everything possible to satisfy your children, but parents are not to be outdone!

The more sporty ones can take advantage of the fitness room at any time of the day… or night! Open 24 hours a day, this space dedicated to physical well-being offers you the latest sports equipment, as well as massage rooms to soothe body and mind. After the effort, comfort.

While children are cuddled by the attentive babysitters, the lovebirds delight in the pleasures of Paname. Every year, many events are organised. Don’t miss the Christian Louboutin exhibition at the Palais de la Porte Dorée from February 26 to July 26, 2020, or the one devoted to the American fashion magazine Harper’s Bazaar at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs from February 28 to July 14, 2020. Mark your calendar!

Fancy a nice little itinerary from the hotel? Walk down the Avenue de l’Opéra to the pretty Place Colette, then cross the famous Rue de Rivoli to reach the Quay François Mitterrand while passing in front of the sublime Jardin des Tuileries. Finally, take the Pont Carroussel. A few meters later lies the House of Serge Gainsbourg where you can stop for a moment to contemplate the artistic graffiti put here and there by admirers of the man with the head of cabbage, before arriving on the Boulevard Saint-Germain where the very famous Café de Flore is hidden. Café et pain au chocolat, s’il vous plaît.

The parisian charm in kids-friendly mode

Little Guest Hotels Collection Sonia

Sonia, 30 years old, passionate about fine cuisine, expert in hotels and frequent traveller, from Madrid

For a family weekend in Paris, or simply a break in the City of Light, Hotel Edouard 7 is a superb place. We recently had the opportunity to visit it for a city trip to Paris. The hotel offers gourmet menus for children and a gift is waiting for them when they arrive in the room (teddy bears, candy, colouring book).

Located in the heart of the city, with a view of the Opera House and close to the gardens of the Palais Royal, it offers practical connected rooms to keep a little romantic privacy. I recommend that people who want to book 2 connected rooms book a suite directly. They are decorated in a modern and Parisian style and are very spacious. Such intimacy in the heart of Paris is incredible.

The staff was very attentive to my requests and made wonderful recommendations on what to do with the family near the hotel. A babysitting service is offered by the establishment, for an additional charge.

I also had the opportunity to try the Spa service provided by Hotel De Sers which can be made available to guests of Hotel Edouard 7. What a pleasure to relax knowing that children are in good hands.

« A gift is offered to your children upon their arrival in the room »

The restaurant of the establishment really puts on a great spread. In addition, the menu on Edward 7 is varied and inexpensive.

Near the hotel, there are also many places to satisfy your taste buds: the Mobilis in Mobili restaurant, located 15 minutes walk away, offers meals made with fish and shellfish, and creates a very good atmosphere from the street. We entered it and we were delighted!

Paris will always remain for me a special experience, and I will come back to this hotel without hesitation.

Have a good trip!
