The Madison Hotel, with its four-star rating, also has an intimate and warm location. Moreover, it is ideally located in the 6th district of Paris, in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, just opposite its famous church, and the iconic Café de Flore and Café des Deux Magots.

It is also close to most of the capital’s must-see tourist sites such as the Louvre Museum, the Orsay Museum and the banks of the Seine. Just a stone’s throw from the magnificent Luxembourg Gardens, the hotel lends young sailors real little wooden sailing boats that they can sail on the famous basin.

The hotel is easily accessible by public transport, by car, but also by bicycle, thanks to the Vélib station that’s located right in front of the hotel.

Opened in 1925, the Madison is a flagship Parisian address, whose history blends with that of the famous district of Saint-Germain and its great intellectuals. Albert Camus shut himself up in room n ° 65 to finish the writing of his novel L’étranger, while Jean Cocteau was a lover of the hotel bar, where he came regularly to have ‘one for the road’.

Elegance and softness emanate from the various rooms with golden tones and art deco accents. In the cosy living room, we like to sit by the fireplace to enjoy a cup of tea. The establishment also has a breakfast room, a bar (self-service) and room service.

Convenient: the hotel also has a laundry room where washing machine, dryer and iron are available, free of charge.

Everything is set up to ensure maximum comfort: the service is irreproachable and the attentive staff make sure that you feel “at home”.

Finally, the Conciergerie, certified by the Clefs d’Or label of excellence, offers a team of attentive concierges and maître d’hôtel who will take care of personalizing your stay, by advising you on the best restaurants, activities, and visits to share with your family.

The 50 rooms and suites of the Madison are characterized by their generous size and are divided into 8 categories : Classic Single, Classic Double, Superior View, Privilege, Privilege View, Junior Suite, Deluxe View, Suite.

To the delight of families, on each floor, it is possible to privatize 2 rooms, connected to each other by a secure airlock. Communicating rooms, independent and comfortable! The Deluxe and Junior Suites rooms can accommodate up to 3 people.

The rooms are all decorated with care and refinement, some in pastel tones, others in a palette of beige and gold with Art Deco accents. Two luminous atmospheres that each fully assert their typically Parisian character.

The bathrooms, in wich you will find care products of the famous Provençal L’Occitane brand, surprise with their modern and chic side. Cosmetics adapted to the skin of babies and young children are also offered. All rooms offer their guests free Wi-Fi access, a Nespresso machine, and a flat-screen TV.

Within the 17 sqm (183 sqft) Superior Rooms with View, you will discover a real cocoon of comfort. Ideal for 2 adults, these rooms offer the possibility of adding a cot. Let yourself be surprised by the colourful ceramics of the washbasins in the bathroom and enjoy a breathtaking view of the Saint-Germain-des-Prés church.

For more space, Privilege Rooms with View, have 20 sqm (2015 sqft), as well as, for some, an adorable balcony, typically Parisian.

Junior Suites are also perfect for your family’s stay. Layout the 28 sqm (301 sqft) of the room with a queen-size bed and an extra bed. The living room is separated by a sliding door and allows parents and children to enjoy their own space in privacy. Three adults can stay there and there are many possibilities for young children.

To complete the picture of your dream family vacation, you can enjoy a magnificent view over the rooftops of the capital. Indeed, the top floor of Madison is devoted to its most beautiful suite, the Madison Suite, which is like a real Parisian apartment. Its 38 sqm (410 sqft) houses a bedroom area, a separate living room, 2 separate toilets, 1 large bathroom with rain shower and a bathtub. No matter where you put your eyes, the beauty of Paris will amaze you: whether through the windows or on-the-wall photographs representing the capital. Notes of red and black decorate the interior of this unique luxury suite. A cot can be added and you can enjoy the bedroom area with either a king-size bed or two twin beds.

A small detail that will enchant children at bedtime: the ceiling of the rooms is encrusted with dozens of tiny barely perceptible LED lamps, which create the sensation of a starry sky, once night has fallen.

When you are about to discover a capital like Paris, it is essential to start the day with a delicious breakfast. The Madison’s breakfast room, located in an elegant rotunda, welcomes you with its warm fireplace. You will enjoy a gourmet buffet with delicious pastries, homemade jams and teas from the famous Parisian house Le Palais des Thés. Elénita and Gislaine will take care of answering all your requests and will compose the breakfast of your dreams, with as a bonus, a formula without gluten. Once the morning is over, the room is transformed into an ideal meeting point for a tea in the afternoon, with a delicious slice of gingerbread in winter or for a light iced tea on a hot, summer’s day.

At any time of the day and until 2 A.M, the room service is ready to serve you delicious sweet and savoury snacks.

In front of the reception, the bar area offers self-service, delicious wines or a Nespresso coffee. If you feel a little hollow, make your drink a delicious and ‘so French’ Macaroon.

Although the Madison does not have its own restaurant, the Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighbourhood is full of addresses for all styles: trendy brunches, typical brasseries, starred restaurants…Our favourite family restaurant is located just 5 minutes from the hotel. At Margherita (17, rue de l’Ancienne Comédie) young and old can enjoy delicious pizzas and also pasta with black truffles or succulent assortments of Italian cold cuts. On the second floor, a playroom is waiting for children with colouring books, a chalkboard with chalk and many other games and toys. On Sunday, from 1 P.M to 4 P.M, a clown comes to liven up the meal of your little ones.

Madison offers families a warm and personalized welcome. The hotel has 14 interconnecting rooms to ensure comfort and privacy for all your tribe. A cot can be added for free in all rooms so babies are always close. One word, one gesture, the Madison provides the rest: changing table, high chairs, baby baths, bottle warmers, baby-phone, stroller loan. You can travel light.

Also note that a room with washing machine, dryer and iron with free access is available: convenient!

Upon arrival in the room, each small guest is offered a cute plush sheep of high quality. From 2 to 8 years old, children also receive slippers and fluffy bathrobes adapted to their sizes.

At Madison, traditional toys are given pride of place. Your children will have fun in the vintage pedal car (found on the surrounding markets and updated by the Director, in person – the car is available free, with a returnable deposit of 100€) or borrow one of the beautiful wooden boats made in Brittany, to sail on the waters of the fountains in Jardins du Luxembourg nearby (boats available for free, with a deposit of 100€).

Numerous board games, colouring kits, construction games (Lego and Kapla), playmats, toys and books are also available free of charge for children.

Finally, good news – breakfast is free for children under 12!

At Madison each guest is unique, so you can enjoy private and personalized tours, tailor-made according to your desires and organized by the concierge of the hotel.

A small square with a playground is just opposite the Madison Hotel, next to the Church of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Located less than 10 minutes walk from the hotel, the Jardins du Luxembourg offers a multitude of activities for the whole family: tennis and chess, jogging, long walks…

Paris is ideal for city trips with the family: walks along the Seine, a visit to the Eiffel Tower, ride on the famous carousel at the bottom of this great iron lady. Many museums in Paris offer tours and workshops specially designed for children and teenagers. In the Louvre, for example, visits to the most beautiful works of art are available, as well as artistic workshops.

The Cité des Sciences in La Villette (about 30 minutes by car) is an opportunity to get away from the centre and give free rein to the imagination of budding scientists. Prices vary between 7€ and 9€ and access is free for children under 6 years old. In the 30,000 sqm (322917 sqft) exhibition, you and your children will follow in the footsteps of the Big Bang, the Ariane rocket or Louis Pasteur and his revolutionary discoveries.

As you plan for your, always be on the lookout for theatrical programming. The city of lights is a real cultural broth and many classics for young and old (Beauty and the Beast, Tom Sawyer, Les Misérables) are frequently on in the theatres of the capital.

Finally, how to talk about Paris without reminding you that Disneyland, the dream of all small (and big) children, is nearby!

After a long day’s shopping in the hotel’s surroundings (Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent or Kenzo), Mom and Dad can enjoy a massage in their room, upon request.

While trendy bars and clubs are not lacking in the French capital, some will prefer the timeless charm of the Café de Flore, located just steps from the hotel. Since its opening in 1887, this French institution has seen in its walls the greatest artists, aristocrats and intellectuals of Europe. Enjoy a coffee on the terrace, in the footsteps of Apollinaire and Aragon.

While Mom and Dad enjoy a romantic evening, an exhibition or a massage session, a high-quality babysitting service ensures that children have fun in the hotel.

A family week-end in the city of love

Marine, mom of Céleste, Faustine and Oscar, from Brussels

It was with my husband and three children that I was lucky enough to stay in one of the most prestigious establishments in the French capital: Madison Hotel, nestled two steps away from the mythical Luxembourg Gardens, in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, a district that is both romantic and idyllic. As Parisians for a weekend, my family and I were immediately won over by the enchanting setting. I recommend this getaway to all mothers who want to spend some family time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

An open book

In Paris, buildings always have a fascinating history, which is surely what charms me the most even before starting the trip. I like to learn about the past of the establishment I’m about to visit in order to immerse myself in the place. A former artist’s studio built in 1925, the Madison Hotel has welcomed renowned guests such as Edith Piaf and Albert Camus. Requisitioned by the German Army before being occupied by the French Navy, the hotel was finally liberated after the war to shine once again in a neighbourhood where painters, writers and jazz musicians coexisted… So obviously, when I told the story of our next discovery to my little ones, it gave them stars in their eyes.

“I recommend this trip to all mothers who want to spend some time with their family, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.”

Time travel

On our way to the hotel, we passed the famous “Deux Magots” restaurant where Simone De Beauvoir and Sartre used to gather around a black coffee to discuss literature and share their love, before coming face to face with an incredible Haussmann-style façade: the Madison Hotel. As soon as you walk through the doors, the place envelops you in a bubble of serenity and sweetness sprinkled with refinement. Faustine didn’t fail to notice the Little Guest sign highlighted in the lobby: no doubt about it, this institution is as kid-friendly as our Travel Designer had suggested!

Indeed, the friendly and adorable staff gave a particularly warm welcome to my three toddlers: traditional toys, books, board and construction games, colouring kits… all the ingredients for a happy child together. But don’t forget to ask for these extras when you arrive (or pass on the message to your children before you arrive and you’ll be sure not to forget!).

Cosy cocoon, cosy rooms

We knew before we left that the Madison Hotel was designed as a family home, but we didn’t expect such a level of comfort. In fact, it’s simple: it really does feel like home. Chocolate, gold and cream tones soothe and reassure, while noble materials such as linen and ceramics underline the charm and elegance. My husband and I stayed in a Privilege Room avec notre plus jeune, Céleste, tandis que Faustine et Oscar occupaient une with our youngest, Céleste, while Faustine and Oscar occupied a second room just opposite ours: when promiscuity rhymes with intimacy. In these cosy cocoons, the hours do not pass and the minutes no longer matter. Only the church of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, nestled opposite the hotel, punctuated our sweet days. In the early morning, I liked to immerse myself in the extraordinarily poetic scene depicted by the cafés and restaurants surrounded by lush trees before going to wake my little angels still peacefully asleep in the hollow of their soft bed.

“It really feels like home”

In my opinion, there is no better way to start the day than to share a meal with your loved ones, and on this point, the Madison Hotel did a great job! Offered in the form of a buffet (a must for children) light, healthy or gourmet, the incredible breakfast by the fireplace was a sensation. A bar and room service are available to guests, but we personally chose to take advantage of the treasures of the city.

A family-friendly Parisian week-end

To me, Paris is the perfect city for a successful and unforgettable family stay. Little Guest also offers several practical guides full of tips to discover the city with children, which is not always easy… Fortunately, we stuck to the guide’s advice on the best kid-friendly activities in Paris! And then, given the perfect location of the hotel, we couldn’t deny ourselves anything. The icing on the cake: Alexandre, the Clefs d’Or Chef Concierge and his team had concocted some private and personalized tailor-made tours for us.

babysitting service was also offered to us, but the call of a whole weekend with my entire little family was much stronger. A choice that I have absolutely no regrets because I spent a stay that was both relaxing and invigorating. Thank you Paris, thank you Little Guest!

Yours affectionately,
