Ideally situated in the Carré d’Or, within walking distance of the Casino, Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. The sumptuous Belle Epoque property was built in 1886. It was fully renovated in 2004 by famous French designer Jacques Garcia, who transformed it into a palace of 126 rooms and suites with a Mediterranean charm in keeping with its era, combining glamour, sophistication and sensoriality.

Upon arrival, the Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo provides you with the Metropole Lifestyle card. Upon presentation of your card, you will be granted exclusive advantages and you will receive a personalized welcome from our partner boutiques of the Metropole Shopping Center located beneath the hotel.

The Hotel Metropole is only 35 minutes drive from the Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport.

Recently chosen as “Best Hotel in the World”, the Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo is not only a reference for luxury and hospitality. It is also a concept, an art of living for an exceptional voyage to the heart of Monaco and the pinnacle of luxury.

Jacques Garcia the “magician of atmospheres” instilled the Spirit that reigns within these walls. Jacques Garcia adapted his “Signature Designs” style within the property, evoking warmth and attitude to create a luxurious, Mediterranean interior. Unlike any other in the Principality, the Metropole resembles an independent House. A real house where one can settle, consume, read and receive friends. This signature and this excellence just permit to the Suite Carré d’Or to obtain a World Travel Awards Winner 2019 as a Monaco’s Leading Hotel Suite.

Colours have taken on silky melting velvety nuances, caressed by soft and subtle lighting. It is a Riviera atmosphere that reigns here, a dreamy reflection of a certain image of the Côte d’Azur, the fragrance of vacationing and the sumptuousness. The very essence of the Garcia Touch is conveyed by this sensation of refinement and comfort.

The Metropole Monte-Carlo offers :

  • 4 outstanding restaurants
  • 1 outdoor sea-water pool that is covered during wintertime
  • 1 Spa Metropole By Givenchy
  • 1 fitness center
  • 1 beauty salon

For families to experience exclusive comfort, some rooms and suites can be connected. Parents and children will have their own space while being close to each other. The size of the rooms varies between 25 sqm and 240 sqm. Among the 10 accommodation options, guests may choose from:

The Junior Suites Deluxe. With a surface area of 40 sqm and 50 sqm, these suites on the upper floors offer a beautiful view of Monte-Carlo. The large marble and mahogany bathroom features a massaging shower, separate bathtub and double sinks. These suites have a bedroom and a separated living room.

The Deluxe Suites. Within their 70 sqm, the Deluxe Suites have the same features as the Junior Suites Deluxe but also offer office space and a large dressing room.

On the top floor of the hotel, the Suite Carré d’Or is like a royal crown adding a final majestic touch to the Metropole. In its 240 sqm and its terrace, this astonishing Suite demonstrates exemplary balance between exquisite taste and refinement. Upon arrival, you will receive a personalized check-in. A butler will help you settle down, unpack your suitcases and wrap them up for you when you leave. One’s first striking impression is the extraordinary 180° view of Monte-Carlo and its golden square with its “Belle Epoque” Casino, its gardens and the sea to infinity.

Just as ravishing, the haute-couture chic of the suite with its honey-coloured parquet floors, Louis XVI furniture, bookcase with an enticing collection of original works. A prominent master bedroom opens out to a dressing-room with a vanity cupboard and bathroom, featuring a tub, massage jet shower and Terre d’Hermès products. For even more privacy, you can book the entire 7th floor.

More than just a hotel, the Metropole has become a true reference in gastronomy. The 4 restaurants have all been orchestrated by the world’s most starred chef, the late Joël Robuchon, offering a unique and varied culinary experience for the discerning palate.

Executive Chef, Christophe Cussac, invites you to live a unique and convivial culinary experience within the footsteps of his ‘spiritual father’, Joël Robuchon. A favourite spot amongst the gourmets, The Metropole Monte-Carlo Restaurant, which has been awarded two stars in the Michelin Guide, features modern and innovative cuisine with Mediterranean flavours. The open kitchen with Teppanyaki (cooking on a hot plate) creates privileged contact between the guests and the cooks.

At the amazing on-site Japanese restaurant, Yoshi (1 Michelin star), Chef Takeo Yamazaki offers healthy, modern cuisine with signature Japanese offerings that are also carefully adapted to the Western palate.

Throughout the year, the chef imagined tasty Mediterranean cuisine for his guests, light and savoury dishes. A place which dresses and undresses depending on the season. A pool, terrace, gardens, pool-house: the various entwine their curves, the different elements melt into each other around the heated seawater pool, in an haute-couture setting imagined and designed by Karl Lagerfeld. From May to September, for diner, Odyssey hosts starred chefs to create on-site an ephemeral restaurant.  A popular address, appreciated by the Monegasques.

In a subdued atmosphere mixing prestigious vintages, velvet armchairs and marble statues, the Bar & Lobby of the Metropole welcome you throughout the day and in the evening for a coffee, a pastry or a cocktail. A Chef’s menu is also available in the lobby.

To explore the city at your leisure, the hotel offers strollers, ideal for the whole family to enjoy pleasant afternoon walks.

In the bathrooms, a range of cosmetics adapted for children is also available.

In order to meet any demand, there are also available on-site: pacifiers, baby phones, high chairs, adapted bathtubs, cots and bottle warmers.

During the summer (July-August), children staying at the Metropole are invited to discover a world of games, surprises and adventures at the hotel’s Kids Club. Crafts, disguises and various games are on the program for children from 4 to 12 years, under the careful supervision of qualified animators (holders of BAFA, certificate of aptitude for the Functions of Animator). To make things even more exciting, the KClub goes one further by hoisting the flag of dreams, adventure and the imagination, through a magical formula on a very colourful theme.

The Little Chef program has been specially designed for small bakers and cooks in the making. Thanks to this gourmet workshop, children from 6 to 10 years old will be able to discover a professional kitchen and make delicious cupcakes or their own chocolate eggs.

Children are also welcome at the Spa Metropole By Givenchy. They must, however, be accompanied by an adult. An opportunity to relax for the whole family.

For optimal safety, a lifeguard watches the swimming pool and doctors and a hospital are accessible near the hotel.

The Oceanographic Museum / Aquarium of Monaco is truly worth seeing and will enchant children and adults alike. In addition to observing an incredible variety of fish (and even turtles), you can live unique experiences such as watching fish feeding, enjoying a light and sound show, or letting your senses awaken in the touch tanks, which allow you to feel the sea urchins and touch the baby sharks. This visit of 40 minutes is accompanied by a caretaker of the aquarium. The museum is a 10-minute drive (30-minute walk) from the hotel.

For a family walk in a green setting there are two particularly popular gardens in Monaco: the Exotic Garden and the Japanese Garden. Both are in opposite directions but less than a 10-minute drive from the hotel. The exotic garden, in addition to its many plants and cacti in various shapes, has a splendid underground cave with impressive stalactites and stalagmites.

If you wish to discover Le Rocher in a more historical aspect, the best thing is to go for a walk not far from the Port of Fontvieille. It is in fact close to this port that the splendid Cathedral of Monaco and the Prince’s Palace are to be found. At the Prince’s Palace, you can watch the ceremony of the changing of the guards everyday at 11:55 am. Note that the Oceanographic Museum is also located nearby.

A longer stay in Monaco can also be an opportunity to visit the region. The French cities of Cannes, Menton and Nice are all less than 50 minutes’ drive from the centre of Monaco. It takes only 30 minutes to reach the Italian border.

The hotel offers its guests a ‘Just For You’ service. The Metropole Monte-Carlo created personalized leisure activities off the beaten track. Whether it’s a day in the footsteps of Grace Kelly, a whale watching tour in a marine reserve or a day at the beach … do not worry, the Metropole takes care of everything!

What more could you ask for than a beautiful shopping center beneath the hotel? The Metropole Shopping Center’s 80 boutiques is one of the Principality’s high temples of luxury and elegance. Furthermore, a few steps away from the hotel, the «Carré d’Or» boutiques bear the most famous names in luxury and offer you the latest creations from fashion designers such as Hermès, Céline, Christian Dior, Saint Laurent Rive Gauche, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel, Prada…

There are many ways to enjoy the nightlife of Monaco. Dad and mum will be able to opt for a casual evening to discover the trendy lounge bars of the city or for a more elegant evening with an opera or a ballet.

You cannot talk about Monaco without thinking about its casinos. The sumptuous Monte-Carlo Casino is just a 5-minute walk from the Metropole … Roll the dice!

The Spa Metropole By Givenchy welcomes you to an exceptional world of beauty and well-being. In addition to the exceptional treatment and treatment list, the spa offers a “Heat Experience” package, which includes the sauna, hammam, caldarium, ice fountain and sensory showers.

Of course, an on-demand multilingual babysitting service is available so that dad and mum can enjoy all these activities.

Ivan, father of a little girl, from France

At the beginning of June 2019, on the occasion of the wedding of a couple of friends in Monaco, I took the plane with my wife and our baby to the Metropole Monte-Carlo. During this three-day weekend, we lived in this Belle Époque institution, a true reference in terms of luxury and comfort, and we were able to take advantage of its exceptional services. Whether it was the beauty of the place, the quality of the accommodation, or the fabulous gastronomythat we were able to discover in one of the hotel’s restaurants, we were overjoyed. So, it seemed obvious to me to tell about our experience in order to share it with potential future holiday-makers who will stay there.

As we got off the plane, we rented a car at Nice airport to go to Le Rocher and 35 minutes later we arrived at our destination. The smiling staff of the hotel lived up to its reputation as a palace with a simply sumptuous welcome. We didn’t wait a minute before a welcome drink was offered and a butler led us to our suite. From the reception desk to the bedroom door, we were able to admire the beauty of the establishment; the extraordinary architecture, the refinement of the interior decorations, the attention to detail taken to the extreme, everything was absolutely sublime. As we walked through the door of this hotel, we really had the impression of entering an oasis of elegance.

With its hundred or so rooms and suites, the Metropole offers a wide choice of accommodation. I had booked a Junior Suite with a view of the hotel’s front courtyard and it won us over as soon as we arrived. Impeccable cleanliness, magnificent furniture and, a small detail that plays an important role, slippers for the whole family so that we can immediately feel at home. Finally, and this is surely the attention that impressed us the most, a bottle warmer and a changing table were already installed in the suite, so our daughter, who was 11 months old at the time, didn’t lack anything. This was our first impression of the Metropole, a harmonious blend of refinement and comfort combined with a great deal of attention to the needs of its guests.

Whether it’s the provision of strollers, high chairs, adapted bathtubs and other essential accessories for young parents or the permanent attention paid to children staying at the Metropole, everything is done to welcome our little ones in the best possible conditions.

« This is our first impression of Le Metropole, a harmonious blend of refinement and comfort »

In addition to the quality of the children’s care, the facility’s services in general are also perfect for adults. For example, we enjoyed exceptional room service during a dinner in our suite and my wife was pampered during a manicure and pedicure session at the hotel’s Givenchy spa. I take her word for it when she tells me that these treatments were performed by a true expert in the field. I’ll come back to the hotel’s restaurants in a moment, but I won’t lie when I say that we were lucky enough to enjoy a delicious moment both on the plate and in terms of atmosphere.

How can we not evoke the restaurant which remains deeply rooted in our memories when we think back on this stay? Indeed, the Metropole is home to four brands that have become true references in terms of gastronomy, four exceptional restaurants. Two of them are starred, the Restaurant du Métropole Monte-Carlo offering Mediterranean dishes, and the Yoshi, a Japanese restaurant that we had heard so much about.

So, we chose the latter and reserved a table there for dinner. After an exceptional welcome with restraint and a smile, we were guided to our table before one of the staff members installed small cushions to ensure our daughter’s optimal comfort. With its absolutely sublime view on a small Japanese garden, its tranquil atmosphere that encourages relaxation and the finesse of its dishes, Yoshi amply deserves its Michelin star. We had a real waking dream.

« With its sublime view on a small Japanese garden, its peaceful atmosphere and the delicacy of its dishes, Yoshi amply deserves its Michelin star. »

From morning to night, the Metropole met and exceeded all our expectations. I mention the beginning of the day because the quality of breakfast is also worth mentioning. We took it by the hotel pool to enjoy the early summer sunshine and everything was done so that we could enjoy the moment without asking ourselves any questions. For example, our daughter had her high chair and fresh fruit every morning. We felt a real devotion to us from the staff and I think that this adds a lot to the quality of a hotel. The waiters were also totally attentive to our needs or any adaptations we wanted to make to the menu.

As well as being located in the heart of Monte Carlo, making it the ideal starting point for visiting Monaco’s superb gardens or, of course, its extraordinary aquarium, the Metropole also offers services unequalled in the Principality.

I am thinking in particular of the Givenchy spa mentioned earlier, which offers, in addition to a beautiful range of treatments and massages, an absolutely brilliant relaxation area, but also the Metropole Shopping Centre, located in the complex. My wife took advantage of its shops to do some shopping for our friends’ wedding, which was very practical as they are just a stone’s throw away from the hotel.

The Metropole is also just a few minutes walk from the emblematic Monte Carlo Casino and, if we just took a stroll along the superb promenade that borders it, it is without a doubt one more argument for both the players or the curious who reside at the hotel.

We didn’t use the hotel’s babysitting service, but I did note that it was multilingual, which is good to know for couples of all origins who would like to enjoy a moment of one-on-one time with their children in the care of the Metropole staff.

In a nutshell

We couldn’t have wished for a better place to spend a long weekend on holiday. Between the splendour of the place, the attention to detail of the staff, the extraordinary comfort of our suite, the tailor-made services and the quality of the gastronomy on offer, the Metropole leaves nothing to chance.

Next time you have the opportunity to visit Monaco, don’t hesitate, you will be delighted.
