LOCATION

Perched on a rock, Saint-Paul-de-Vence was originally a natural observatory. Surrounded by ramparts, this Provencal village is one of the most beautiful in the country. It is here, in the midst of songs of cicadas and perfumes of lavender, citrus fruits and olive trees, that the prestigious kids-friendly hotel Le Mas de Pierre is located.

The Mas de Pierre is located 20 minutes from Nice airport and close to the ramparts of Saint-Paul-de-Vence. A shuttle takes you there several times a day.

Nice or Cannes is just 25 kilometres from Nice airport. Or, the other rock on this piece of Mediterranean land, 40 kilometres away: Monaco.

ACCOMmODATIONS

The 54 rooms, suites and refined apartments have been completely renovated in 2016/17. The beauty of Provencal life is highlighted through objects, paintings or photographs that decorate each room. Art also resides in noble materials, harmoniously staged: parquet floors, lacquered woodwork, natural stones, marble or whitewashed walls.

The rooms are in Provencal houses. Each room has a private outdoor area, a terrace on the ground floor or a balcony upstairs.

The decoration is soft and in perfect harmony with the surrounding nature. Blue, beige and pink tones are used on velvets, sheers, carpets and silky fabrics. The atmosphere is warm, as could be a family home.

At the heart of this green setting, you will find a heated swimming pool surrounded by private cabanas and sun loungers.

ENCHANTED INTERLUDE IN SAINT-PAUL-DE-VENCE

Sophie, mother of Achilles (4 y.o.), from Brussels

During the last Easter holidays, we stayed in Terre Blanche, and then at Mas de Pierre, a secret address to relax with the family.

After spending three nights in Terre Blanche, we continued our discovery of the Provence region in a charming hotel ideally located a few kilometers from Nice: Le Mas de Pierre. This five-star establishment has an exceptional location. At the top of a hill, the estate offers magnificent views of the surroundings of Saint-Paul de Vence.

A BOUTIQUE HOTEL FULL OF CHARM

The hotel is welcoming and authentic. An instant favorite! I loved the typical decoration of the south of France, romantic and comforting. Fountains and sculptures decorate the elegant Provençal gardens lined with olive trees and pines. The singing of cicadas and birds gives the place a bucolic atmosphere enhanced by the wrought iron garden furniture.

« On the first evening, just before bedtime, the housekeeper came knocking on the door to offer my son a small stuffed dog bearing the hotel’s logo. So sweet! »

Located on the ground floor, our family suite had a private terrace equipped with very comfortable deckchairs on which we took nice long naps. My son Achille had a good night’s sleep on the comfortable sofa bed next to the parental bed. On the first evening, just before bedtime, the housekeeper came knocking on the door to offer him a small stuffed dog bearing the hotel’s logo. So sweet!

TAKE YOUR TIME…

Mas de Pierre is the perfect place to let go. Take your time. Relax by the beautiful swimming pool heated at 29 degrees, in the jacuzzi or in the hammam. Stroll through the greenhouse and the large aviary that houses parakeets with shimmering feathers. Admire the white dress of the doves flying in the garden. Relax at the spa. Enjoy a good meal on the terrace of the gourmet restaurant, a glass of rosé in your hand. I really enjoyed these precious moments, made of simple things and shared with my son and husband.

«  The restaurant offers personalized dishes, made by the Chef according to the wishes of the children. »

A PLACE SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN

During the French school holidays, the hotel has a children’s club at the disposal of its guests. Despite the fact that we were out of the holiday season, Achilles was not bored for a second! The pool has a very shallow area where children can have fun in complete safety. My son spent hours there! In the large garden, a mini football field is available. A little further down, a ping-pong table and a bouncy castle offer great moments of fun! Not to mention the badminton and pétanque fields.

The restaurant offers personalized dishes, made by the Chef according to the wishes of the children. To wait at the table, colorings are available.

Many families were staying at the hotel during our stay. Achilles was able to make friends with them at the pool, restaurant or playground.

I particularly recommend Le Mas de Pierre to families looking for calm and serenity, for those for whom holidays go hand in hand with gastronomy and the art of living.

Don’t forget to visit the village of Saint-Paul de Vence, one of the most beautiful and picturesque ones in France. A word of advice: go there in the early evening, when the sun sets and the sky is tinged with its orange color. The view is magnificent. Take the opportunity to dine at Le Tilleul restaurant, where we enjoyed the food and the kindness of the staff.

Have a nice trip!
Sophie
