Saint-Paul-de-Vence village is perched on a rock. Originally, this unique, family-friendly place was a natural observatory. Surrounded by ramparts, this Provencal village is one of the most beautiful in the country. It is here, amidst the songs of cicadas and the scents of lavender, citrus and olive trees, that the prestigious kids-friendly hotel Le Mas de Pierre ***** is located.

Le Mas de Pierre is located 20 minutes from Nice airport and close to the ramparts of Saint-Paul-de-Vence. A shuttle bus is available to take you there several times a day.

The estate features 54 rooms, suites and flats. In addition to these accommodation options, the hotel also offers:

  • 1 outdoor swimming pool
  • 2 restaurants
  • 1 bar
  • 1 spa with sauna and hammam
  • 1 gym
  • 1 conference room
  • 1 business centre
  • Numerous sports activities (yoga, table tennis, badminton, aquagym, bocce ball, football, etc.).
  • 1 high-quality babysitting service
  • 1 incredible kids-club open to children from 3 to 10 years old

The garden on the estate is exceptional. Choose your favourite reading spot, in the orchid greenhouse or under the magnificent aviary and let yourself be carried away by the song of cicadas.

The 54 refined rooms, suites and flats were completely renovated in 2016/17. The art of Provencal living is brought to life through the objects, paintings and photographs that decorate each room. The art also resides in noble materials, harmoniously displayed: parquet floors, lacquered woodwork, natural stone, marble or whitewashed walls.

The rooms are nestled in typical Provencal houses. Each room features a private outdoor space, a terrace on the ground floor or a balcony upstairs. In the heart of this green setting, you will find a heated swimming pool surrounded by private cabins and sun loungers.

Different choices of accommodation are available for you and your family:

The 22 Superior Rooms offer a 25 sqm surface area. All have a comfortable bedroom and a charming bathroom with shower or bath.

The 19 Deluxe Rooms (30 sqm) are bright and offer a beautiful view of the garden. While most of them have a shower, some feature a bathtub, which is more suitable for baby’s comfort.

The 5 Junior Suites (45 sqm) have a King-size bed, a shower and/or a bathtub. Relaxation is ensured by the lounge area with a sofa bed for up to 2 children, the terrace, balcony or loggia.

The 2 Suites combine charm, romance and sophistication in a 60 sqm surface area. You will find a King-size bed, an adjoining living room with a sofa bed for 2 children and a private garden with terrace. The bathrooms invite you to relax in the bathtub and Italian shower.

Private and luxurious, the 6 Suites of the Bastide des Fleurs (75 sqm) and the 430 sqm Villa have independent access. Rooms can be linked to each other to allow you to stay with your family. The children’s room features welcome gifts. Also, the spacious white marble bathrooms are equipped with Fragonard products and bathrobes for adults.

If you wish, continental breakfast can be served in your room at no extra charge. You can also opt for a buffet breakfast, which is served daily from 7 am to 10.30 am.

The chef, Emmanuel Lehrer, offers his guests delicate cuisine in the gastronomic restaurant La Table de Pierre. The products are fresh, local and selected with the greatest care. For example, take advantage of his “Inspiration” menu served every evening (85€/person). Every Sunday afternoon, La Table de Pierre offers dishes to share with family or friends (52€/person). For lunch, go to the bistronomic restaurant Lis Orto! Its Mediterranean-inspired dishes are made from quality local produce.

Adapted menus and high chairs are available for children in each restaurant of the estate. If your child suffers from any allergies or intolerances, the menu can of course be modified.

An activity leader offers numerous eco-educational and (re)creative activities throughout the day. Head to Antibes to visit the Marineland park: 26 hectares of marine life between delphinarium, aquariums, water park and mini golf.

Another point of interest not to be missed: the island of Sainte-Marguerite! Situated opposite the famous Cannes stairs, this place was used as a prison for the famous Man in the Iron Mask in 1687. A ferry can take you there in only 15 minutes.

Parents can enjoy total relaxation and unwinding at the hotel’s spa. In addition to the heated outdoor swimming pool, the spa also includes a whirlpool, fitness centre, sauna, steam bath and relaxation area. In the summer, treatments can be enjoyed outdoors. Good news for your children: they are entitled to their own spa treatment card!

After entrusting their children to the super babysitting service, sporty parents can have a great time! Yoga, aquagym and stretching classes, as well as hiking, running courses and electric bike rides are sure to keep you busy during your stay.

Enchanted break at LE mas de pierre

Sophie, mother of Achille, 5 years-old, from Brussels

During the last Easter holidays, we stayed at Terre Blanche and then at Le Mas de Pierre, a secret address that is perfect relax with your family.

After spending three nights in Terre Blanche, we continued our discovery of Provence in a charming hotel ideally located a few kilometres from Nice: Le Mas de Pierre. This five-star hotel benefits from an exceptional location. At the top of a hill, the domain offers a magnificent view of the surroundings of Saint-Paul-de-Vence.

The hotel is welcoming and authentic. It was love at first sight! I loved the typical romantic and comforting decoration of the South of France. Fountains and sculptures decorate the elegant Provencal gardens lined with olive trees and pine trees. The song of cicadas and birds gives the place a bucolic atmosphere enhanced by the wrought iron garden furniture.

“On the first evening, just before bedtime, the housekeeper came knocking on the door to offer my son a little plush dog with the hotel logo. How sweet!”

Located on the ground floor, our family suite had a private terrace equipped with very comfortable deckchairs on which we took long naps. My son Achille had a good night’s sleep on the comfortable sofa bed next to the parental bed. On the first evening, just before bedtime, the housekeeper came knocking on the door to offer my son a small plush dog with the hotel logo. How sweet!

Le Mas de Pierre is the ideal place to let yourself go. Take your time. Relax by the beautiful swimming pool heated to 29 degrees, in the whirlpool or in the hammam. Stroll through the greenhouse and the large aviary with its shimmering feathered parakeets. Admire the white dress of the doves flying in the garden. Relax in the spa. Enjoy a good meal on the terrace of the gourmet restaurant, with a glass of rosé in your hand. I really enjoyed these precious moments, made of simple things and shared with my son and husband.

“The restaurant offers personalized dishes, created by the chef according to the children’s wishes.”

During the French school holidays, the hotel opens a kids-club for its little guests. Despite the fact that it was closed during our stay, Achille was not bored for a single second! The swimming pool features a very shallow area where children can play safely. My son spent hours there! In the large garden there is a mini football pitch. A little further down, a ping-pong table and a bouncy castle offer great fun!

The restaurant offers personalized dishes, created by the chef according to the children’s wishes. To make up for the waiting time, colouring books are available for children. Many families have stayed at the hotel at the same time as us. Achille has made friends with them at the swimming pool, the restaurant and the playground.

I particularly recommend Le Mas de Pierre to families who are looking for peace and quiet and for those for whom holidays go hand in hand with gastronomy and the art of living. Don’t forget to visit the village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence, one of the most beautiful and picturesque in France. A piece of advice: go there in the early evening, when the sun sets and the sky is tinged with orange. The view is magnificent. Take the opportunity to dine at the restaurant Le Tilleul, where we enjoyed the food and the kindness of the staff.

Have a nice trip!
