The Singita Explore camp is located in the Serengeti National Park, not far from the Serengeti House, another place in the park where you can spend the night and which is bookable on our website. Serengeti House offers a stay in a beautiful building, while Serengeti Explore offers a unique experience of ultra-luxurious camping, closer to nature, but without giving up on quality service.

The Serengeti, located in northern Tanzania, is the second-largest wildlife park in Africa with no fewer than 4 million animals and 400 bird species. You will be able to observe a rich range of wildlife, including the famous species that constitute the ‘Big Five’: the lion, the leopard, the elephant, the rhinoceros and the African buffalo.

To reach the camp, you have to catch a flight from an airport that connects with Singita Airport. Flights are organized from Nairobi (2h15 flight, one flight per day), Kilimanjaro (2h flight, three flights a day) and Arusha (2h flight, one flight per day). NB: A visa is necessary to enter Tanzania.

For a quarter of a century, the Singita hotel group has been recognized as the best organizer of exceptional safaris. Singita mixes preservation of nature, absolute luxury and respect for the local population perfectly.

Camp Singita Explore consists of 6 luxurious 1-bedroom private tents. There are 2 common tents that house the dining room where meals are served and a lounge in which to relax. Note that the entire lodge can be privatized, with a minimum of 3 people and a maximum of 12 people.

Each tent is decorated in a contemporary style, with a strong African influence. All have a private bathroom. Hot water and thermal blankets are available in each tent. The camp works entirely on solar energy, in order to preserve the ecology.

The dishes prepared by the Chef of the camp are refined, tasty and very creative.

At breakfast, you can enjoy, among other things, fresh eggs, cereals, yoghurts and tropical fruits. At lunch and dinner, the menu features the best of grilled meats, baked potatoes, organic vegetables, accompanied by a wide variety of sauces and delicious fresh pieces of bread. A nice selection of cheeses and desserts completes your meal. Banana bread, apple crumble and pudding will delight your children. As for drinks, premium wines and spirits are served daily and you can even order champagne for a fee!

Afternoon tea is served with tea, banana and nut rolls and many other tasty pastries.

The Chef also prepares menus specially designed for children, adapting to their food preferences.

Children of all ages are welcome at Singita Explore!

If babies or children are considered too young to accompany parents on safari during the day, a babysitting service is offered. Similarly, fun activities are held throughout the day, such as painting, cooking classes, capturing and releasing butterflies and board games. A real summer camp!

But what sets the ‘kids’ offer apart from the Serengeti Explore Camp is its Mini-Ranger program. Thanks to this unique concept, your children will be able to learn how to follow animals, observe the stars, flush out frogs and spot birds. At the end of the stay, a quiz on nature will be offered. If they succeed, they will be awarded an official certificate, to certify their new knowledge of the African wild world!

The daily safaris (morning and afternoon) take place aboard Land Rover for 6 people and are the perfect opportunity to get closer to the animals safely, while the nocturnal walks reveal the magic of the animal species living at night. , all under a sky spotted with stars.

During safaris, you may see cheetahs, wildebeest, bat-eared foxes, rhinos, giraffes, buffalo, lions and leopards. Do not miss the wildebeest migration period that usually starts between late January and mid-March when the calves are born.

During your stay, you have the opportunity to meet the anti-poaching team of Singita Grumeti Fund. The opportunity to see how these 120 people live and work to preserve local wildlife. You can even visit their camp, located on top of a hill with incredible views of the sunset and the surrounding plains.

If you really want to immerse yourself in the African culture, we strongly advise you to organize a visit to one of the 21 neighbouring villages of the camp. The Singita Serengeti Explore works in close collaboration with these villages for everything related to education, water management and natural resources.

Other activities include mountain biking, archery and stargazing. The arrival of the night, in fact, always offers an incredibly rich tapestry of stars, in the absence of any light pollution.

Finally, if you want to create lasting memories that will follow you a long time after your return trip, opt for a hot air balloon flight over the Serengeti!

If you are a big fan of photography, know that the Serengeti Explore has been one of the major places where internationally recognized animal photographers like Yann Arthus-Bertrand have been revealed. It is today the meeting place for many photographers in search of a photo safari. Do not forget to take your camera!

Also, note that Singita’s wineries house the most sought after African and international vintage wines from Tanzania. Whether you are a connoisseur or a simple wine lover, the experienced sommeliers of the lodge will make you discover a vast selection of exceptional grape varieties.
