ACCOMMODATION
An out-of-the-ordinary and eco-friendly location, in the middle of the Swedish forest, the hotel offers families 7 eco-friendly Scandinavian-design huts with breathtaking views of the valley for cozy nights with heads in the stars. Comfortably nestled in one its Art works by Bertil Harström or Mårten and Gustav Cyrén, you would almost be able to touch the northern lights with your fingertips, while being on your bed.
After a day full of extraordinary winter adventures, you can take off for a cozy and bright setting, the Bird’s Nest (17 sqm). Being built like a bird’s nest, this warm cocoon delicately blends into the green surroundings of the Lapland’s pine forest. Families of 4 people love lodging in this love nest equipped with a double bed and two single beds, which can be separated by a wall for more privacy and comfort.
The young science fiction fans will be enthralled by the UFO (30 sqm) and its intergalactic decor inspired by the cosmos. This original room has the peculiar shape of a flying saucer and thus transports its little guests in first class. The UFO can accommodate up to 5 persons; that is, two in a double bed and three in single beds, for a timeless family trip.
With a contemporary and state-of-the-art construction, the 7th Room (100 sqm) is the latest creation on offer, among Treehotel AB’s luxury accommodations. An undeniable observation point is that it has a terrace and panoramic windows to entice the entire family into stargazing. During winter, cocooning tends to give way to ‘Hygge’, a lifestyle which we practice with our loved ones, huddled around the fireplace (5 people maximum).
Each hut offers a completely different experience. Awaken your heart of child by opting for the Blue Cone, a traditional wooden hut suspended in the trees. Its surrealism looks futuristic thanks to the Mirrorcube. From illusion to optical effects, the magic of this 4 cubic-meters cube will impress the adventurers who seek after originality. The Dragonfly is always a strong favorite thanks to its outdoor patio, its panoramic view and its intense light which gives the pleasant impression of living in the middle of the forest. For a romantic getaway, head for The Cabin, which is an amazing capsule that overlooks the valley. Its breathtaking view, balcony and sleek style will enchant the hearts of young parents.
Each room is equipped with a 3L eco-friendly water system (for washing hands) and a dry toilet. Only the 7th Room and Dragonfly rooms have their own bathroom with shower.
GASTRONOMY
The former boarding school now houses the Britta’s Pensionat Restaurant where families can enjoy local specialties in an atmosphere from the 1930s to 1950s. Being an indigene from the region, the Chefs will concoct for you both local and seasonal dishes in a warm and family atmosphere. As per the Scandinavian way of live, it will usually begin with a balanced homemade diet.
In Sweden, every day comes with brand a new culinary experience. Early in morning, the smell of fresh bread will titillate your nostrils, leading you to a healthy and balanced breakfast offered by the house.
At lunch and/or dinner, the Chef will make your taste buds marvel with each of his concocted Swedish dish and delicacy, while he tells you the history behind each one of them. (Re)discover the game meat from the local terroir such as the reindeers or wild moose. Finish on a tangy note with a lemony sorbet decorated with berries that were freshly picked during a walk in the forest.
The hotel also offers many exclusive packages (additional costs and advance booking). For a complete immersion in nature and a unique experience, enjoy succulent grills during a convivial riverside meal, enjoy a candlelight dinner in a heated-up tepee on a frozen lake, or go out and meet the Samis, an indigenous people with amazing ancestral traditions.
