A beautiful trip at Hôtel Baume

My 5-year-old son has been asking me for several months to see the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre Pyramid « in real life »… We headed to Paris the three of us (him, his daddy and I) for the All-Saints’ Day holidays! The weather was, to our great delight, perfect, and we spent 4 days in the heart of the capital.

A little less than 30 minutes by taxi from Orly airport and we arrived in the heart of the 5th arrondissement, at the Baume hotel, nestled in my former student quarter at the Sorbonne! Although no longer a student, the hotel’s neighbourhood is just as perfect for a stay with children: the Luxembourg Park is just a stone’s throw away for games and snacks, there are dozens of restaurants and cafés with terraces where children can play during their meals, and finally, the proximity of bus and metro stations for quick and easy access.

As soon as you set foot in the hotel, you feel as if you are enveloped in a soft bubble; the colours and materials of the decoration immediately make you feel like you are in a cocoon away from the hustle and bustle outside. The very quick check-in allowed us to return to our room with all the information we would need for our stay. My son was delighted to discover the colourful balloons, sweets and colouring book on his bed! The parents were not left out with delicious pastries and fresh fruit juice!

As for the room, I found it really spacious for the 3 of us with its 2 large beds facing each other and a very bright bathroom. Attention to detail is clearly given in this establishment where the decoration is different in each room with furniture that you don’t often see in hotels. Although the three of us did not feel the need for it, it is nevertheless possible to benefit from connecting rooms or rooms with a separate children’s corner by asking for it at the time of the reservation, according to the receptionist.

The hotel’s little plus is undeniably its breakfast corner. Let yourself slide on the velvet benches of the veranda located at the back of the hotel and you will be entitled to a delicious morning meal to start your day served by the adorable staff; the children benefit from a special kid’s breakfast with Nutella sandwiches, fresh orange juice and other still warm pastries. We also noted the presence of high chairs and booster seats for the smaller children. In short, this little restaurant area was faultless!

Another nice touch is that children have their own range of products in the bathroom and they are not forgotten in the hotel spa either. Although we didn’t have time to take advantage of it, I noticed that it offers duo treatments for parents and children which can be a very good idea to relax after a day of visiting the streets of Paris.

As for the hotel’s reception service, it is just adorable and especially ready to make your stay as easy as possible: ordering taxis with child seats inside, booking baby-sitters if parents want to go to dinner in the evening, advice and restaurant reservations in the area, in short, a faultless service on this side!

What a joy to be able to return to this hotel each day of our stay after tiring days of visits, it must be said! Very central but totally cut off from the outside noise, I can only recommend this place to any family wishing to stay in Paris with their children: the welcome, the services and the very comfortable rooms will make you spend a stay at the end of which one inevitably wants to come back!
