It was during a visit to the island of Mallorca at the end of May 2021 that I had the opportunity to spend a night at the St. Regis Mardavall Mallorca Resort. I had already heard of this palace – and particularly of its breathtaking view of the Mediterranean Sea – but I had no idea of the splendour of the place. The hotel, set between the sea and the mountains of the Serra de Tramuntana massif, is a treasure trove of luxury and hospitality that my partner and I were delighted to discover! I will explain why in the following paragraphs!
The splendour of the establishment is felt from the moment of arrival, which is done through a majestic gate opening onto a beautiful road leading to the hotel’s car park. Once there, there was simply nothing left to do. Two baggage handlers immediately came to collect our luggage before leading us to the arrival hall. In the lobby, a butler was waiting for us and welcomed us before leading us to the reception desk. As soon as the check-in was over, which was very quick and simple, I was given a beautiful rose as a gift and we were told that our room was ready. As I looked around at the families arriving at the same time as us, I could see that the children were also receiving cute little welcome gifts. A butler then guided us to our room, because yes, at the St. Regis Mardavall, a personal butler service is included in the reservation, regardless of the room chosen (the St. Regis is the only hotel chain in the world to offer this).
Our personal butler showed us to our room and gave us all the details we needed for an all-comfort stay before giving us his card and saying goodbye. This card allows you to contact your butler at any time with any questions or requests for services.
I found this arrival absolutely exceptional! All guests are treated like VIPs by a multilingual, professional and very welcoming team. We immediately felt relaxed and at ease; the holiday could begin!
Before we left, our butler explained that the hotel management had decided to upgrade us to a Junior Suite, so we were delighted! Once we were alone, we were able to discover this suite which is only Junior in name. With its 52 sqm surface area, its breathtaking view on the main pool, the gardens and the sea, and its absolutely sublime decoration, this suite is really perfect for a family in search of calm and refinement! Located on the top floor of the main hotel building, the suite was very comfortable, very spacious, and very clean; there was even a small sign saying « cleaned and disinfected » on the bathrobes and in the bathroom (especially nice at this time of year).
A welcome gift was waiting for us on the table in the lounge area: a tray of fresh fruit and chocolate… the dream! I learned that children also receive a gift that differs according to their age; a nice touch.
In addition to an incredibly comfortable double bed, a De Longhi coffee maker that allowed me to drink coffee as soon as I woke up, enough space for a family and a decoration composed of works of art that can be bought, our suite housed a lighting system equipped with a dimmer! This made it possible to change the atmosphere according to the time of day: very bright to prepare for dinner, dimmed at aperitif time, and warmer at bedtime. The icing on the cake: our suite had a spacious balcony with a splendid view of the sea.
If our room was perfect, the rest of the hotel did not disappoint! This was particularly evident when we visited the spa. Very well laid out, this wellness centre – one of the largest on the island – impressed us by its surface area, the quality of the services offered and the comfort it provides. Organised into several pools heated to different temperatures, this spa is truly incredible. The main indoor pool is connected to the outside by a swimming corridor. We swam down this corridor to the hot tubs and the adjacent large seawater pool before heading to the sauna and hammam for a moment of relaxation… a soothing and very relaxing experience.
On the catering side, nothing was left to chance either! A word about the atmosphere first: the restaurant staff are very helpful and ultra-benevolent with children who are entitled to special attention; they have a dedicated area with buffets, tables and chairs adapted to their size, they can keep themselves busy by colouring while waiting for their meal, and a menu specially designed for them is proposed (it is even possible to order special dishes for babies). Adults are not left out! Cleanliness, a varied menu, impeccable service, tasty dishes… everything was perfect. The restaurant also has a beautiful terrace overlooking the hotel’s gardens and offering splendid views of the surrounding nature!
If you are still wondering whether your children will be happy at the St. Regis, the hotel has a kids’ club (price included in the room rate). Located in the hotel’s gardens, the kids club consists of a small house with an entertainment room, an outdoor playground and children’s pools. The various facilities, adapted to the age of the children – from toddlers to pre-teens – are all super safe to avoid any risk.
I would be lying if I said that the St. Regis Mardavall did not exceed my expectations. The hotel is the epitome of luxury, tradition and hotel know-how, offering an exceptional setting and top of the range services. It is, in my opinion, an example of excellence in the world of hotels and hospitality in general. I will return and recommend it to my friends without a doubt!
