What an opportunity for me to visit the Amara, which has been giving me serious attention ever since it joined our hotel collection! Here are my impressions.
As soon as I arrived at the airport, the hotel staff accompanied me to their car for my transfer to the hotel, about an hour’s drive, before arriving at this hotel in Cyprus delicately set by the sea.
A simple, quick check-in, luggage immediately taken care of, I was led to my room, a Deluxe Room offering a sumptuous sea view. Super comfortable, if a little narrow, but the balcony makes all the difference: what a pleasure to wake up with a view like this while drinking your coffee!
Arriving around 11:00am, by which time I had settled in, freshened up and rested, it was now time to get my fill. The Italian restaurant really is the perfect option for families. I went without much pretension, but it’s clear that the place is very friendly, not to mention the delicious food.
That same evening, I tried the gourmet restaurant, which offers Japanese-Peruvian cuisine… Incredible. Really crazy. Firstly, the chef prepares it before your very eyes, and secondly, it’s seriously delicious. On the other hand, and obviously given that this is a gourmet restaurant, the premises are not really child-friendly.
As Little Concierge, it was obviously my duty to check that everything was child-friendly! I have to admit that I was rather disappointed: there’s no outdoor space dedicated to the kids’ club, and the kids’ club is not very kid-friendly, and is even a little dark. I think it’s still a good option if you want to enjoy a moment for two for an hour or two, but no more than that.
I was then curious to visit the place, and it’s easy to get carried away: these endless pools, each more beautiful than the next, make you seriously want to take a dip. And to stay close to all things aquatic, the sea is just a stone’s throw away, you know, the one I can see from my room. Well, it’s right there, with its white sandy beach (with a few pebbles, but nothing too serious), and the parasols are free!
A wonderful discovery, a luxury hotel that will appeal enormously to parents. Many positive points, particularly with regard to food and comfort. Unfortunately, improvements could be made to the children’s facilities. In any case, in my opinion, a stay at the Amara is a superb experience.
