Starting of 2019 at the Atlantis the palm

The Atlantis The Palm, everyone knows it  by name or reputation … We all read about it in magazines or have browsed its incredible installations on our screens. Personally, I even saw it several times during my business trips. Moreover, at the Dubai airport, the elevator doors are covered with images of this hotel, which has become a staple in the city. My son is 3 years old and like all children his age, he loves water. It was a good time for us to discover this luxurious and unique address of the Emirates, only 6 hours flight from Europe.

At the main entrance of the hotel, we were already dazzled by the immensity and architectural beauty of the hotel. Everything is big, even gigantic and yet, the atmosphere remains peaceful. The check-in is done quickly and the concierge, as smiling and helpful as his colleagues, announces that our family room is ready. Our suite is located on the 22nd and last floor of the hotel. To our surprise, we understand that we will enjoy a breathtaking view of the famous palm. The holidays can finally begin!

In our room, we found a spacious and bright area with branded bedding, a beautiful bathroom, a large balcony and a desk area with  fresh fruit and chocolates. We do not have words to express what we were going through. I visited a lot of hotels in my life but I never had this experience! We were speechless.

After our room setup, we quickly put on our swimsuits to take a dip in the heated pool of the hotel. The winter holidays are the perfect time to stay in Dubai: the sun is at the rendezvous and the thermometer is between 24 and 30 degrees.

After a few swims and water games, we were hungry and we headed for the nearest restaurant. The Mexican food (which we enjoyed until the last crumb) was of a high quality and, as in all restaurants in Dubai, children’s menus were offered. Jude feasted! Another restaurant that has caught my attention is the « Bread Street » orchestrated by the famous British chef Gordon Ramsay. Their cocktails are delicious (although very expensive) and their « signature » dish is simply to die for: beef, accompanied by a mushroom puff pastry, a truffle puree and carrots roasted with honey. A pure delight!

In the afternoon, we asked to visit one of the two most beautiful suites of the hotel. Imagine: a suite so luxurious that it extends over 3 floors and has its own elevator. The bedroom and the bathroom take you under the ocean thanks to bay windows behind which 200 marine species coexist in a huge aquarium. A magical and hypnotic setting that left Jude speechless for several minutes. This unique room in the world still has a price: 8,000€/night. It’s a real chance to be able to put a foot on it with my little end that will certainly keep an unforgettable memory. You will not be left out because, fortunately, this marine show is accessible to all hotel guests from the main corridor leading to the restaurants. Tip: After dinner, take your child to the « Lost Chambers« . The place is almost empty and your toddler can proclaim himself the King of all the oceans.

If you stay at Atlantis The Palm, you get free access to the resort’s aquapark every day. It is like a gigantic Disneyland whose attractions have been replaced by swimming pools. The park offers aquatic activities for all ages. Jude found happiness in the area reserved for the little ones. The flooring of the pools in this area is perfectly adapted and the water temperature is ideal. It was very surprising to see my son testing all the toboggans in the park, without any fear or apprehension. He was thrilled and his happiness was infectious. Small inconvenience: there are only fast food type restaurants at the aquapark.

The Atlantis The Palm is a very nice discovery. A magical adventure for young and old … And definitely, a must when you stay in Dubai !
