LOCATION

Visit the Costa del Sol to discover the iconic and prestigious Marbella Club, an Andalusian haven located a few kilometers from the greatest attractions of the region. A must for your family vacation; certainly one of the most beautiful hotels in our collection!

In addition to its exceptional microclimate (325 days of sunshine a year), it’s particularly its history and also its private beach, its unusual kids-club and its fine gastronomy that make this hotel an essential address in the south of Spain.

You can reach this little corner of paradise in 40 minutes from Malaga Airport.

DESCRIPTION

In the past, the Marbella Club was the private residence of Prince Alfonso von Hohenlohe, an Austrian crown heir, more famous for his jet setter life than for his respect of the protocol. This fantastic man and businessman in the soul is right when he decides to rent the rooms of his sumptuous house isolated in this small fishing village that is then Marbella, to renowned guests. The hotel quickly became the meeting place for aristocrats, millionaires and glamorous celebrities such as Lisa Minelli, Audrey Hepburn, Sean Connery, Brigitte Bardot and the Duke of Windsor. If people are getting rarer today, travelers staying at the Marbella Club still enjoy its chic and authentic atmosphere.

Who says authenticity, says heritage … In Andalusia, as we know, the architecture is unique because witness centuries of history and culture intertwined. The Marbella Club is no exception with its Arab-Andalusian decoration, inherited from the Cordoba caliphate in the 8th century. Muslim art gives life to the walls of the hotel with beautiful arabesques that sublimate the high ceilings and frescoes in indigo blue mosaics that highlight the curves of the columns. The charm of the Orient is tremendously inviting in the white Spanish stone.

With its 42,000 sqm of subtropical gardens composed of orange, lemon, avocado, banana and fig trees, the Marbella Club area is crossed by colorful and scented walks.

The hotel has :

  • 130 rooms

  • 4 restaurants

  • 1 hammam
  • 1 indoor pool

The rooms of the Marbella Club are very spacious. They extend a bathroom en suite with a bathtub and a rain shower decorated with marble. The decor is certainly typical, chic and contemporary.

Huge favorite for the Villa del Mar, ideal for families with its 6 bright rooms, large garden, private pool and fully equipped kitchen, presided over by a personal chef who prepares the best specialties of the region. Let yourself be tempted by a tortilla or gazpacho, the cold and refreshing tomato soup.

The kids club of Marbella is amazing. It has nothing less than 5,000 sqm of playground! 365 days a year, your toddler can enjoy recreational activities as diverse as dancing, pottery, painting, music, cinema, tennis, cooking, treasure hunting, paddling.

Everything is possible: from the art of gardening to learning flamenco and creating your own perfume! This mini village  made for children from 3 to 14 years old brings together quality bilingual supervision (English and Spanish), a dynamic environment and an innovative educational programme.

Children under 3 are also welcome at the kids club, accompanied by Mom or Dad.

For children between 3  and 14 years old:

  • For a full day (from 10 to 18h), count 90€ (with lunch included) for 1 child while a half-day (10h-13h or 15h-18h) returns to 60€ (or 100€ with lunch included) for 1 child.

For children under 4 (accompanied by their parents or a babysitter):

  • You can enjoy a full day from 55€. Each registration for a workshop or a “special” activity will mean 5€ extra.

Adolescents and pre-teens benefit from age-specific supervision and enjoy tailor-made activities to meet their expectations: dance, sports tournaments, boums, DJs, etc.

Families with several children enjoy a sliding scale rate when they register for the kids club.

The hotel also offers parents a babysitting service (20€/h) and a large number of facilities facilitating the stay of the little ones such as the rental of a stroller, a car seat and a baby-phone, children’s menus, high chairs, bottle warmers, cots, baby baths.

family EXPERIENCES

Before heading to the major tourist sites of Andalusia, rent a stroller and go to discover the old town of Marbella (5 minutes from the hotel). This charming, typical southern Spanish village with its narrow streets and small restaurants is just minutes from Puerto Banús marina, famous for yachts with its harbour, nightlife and designer shops.

Once seduced by Marbella, choose from the many theme parks in the Andalusian region. Between the aquariums, animal parks and water parks located near the hotel, your children will not know where to turn!

The Aqualand of Torremolinos (30 minutes from the hotel) is the teenagers’ favorite water park with its wave pool, kamikaze slides, rapids and anacondas, wild river and surf beach.

For the little ones, head for Benalmadena to visit the famous Sea Life aquarium (40 minutes from the hotel) where more than 5000 sea creatures are impatient to meet your tribe…

The most adventurous kids head to Crocodile Park (located 30 minutes from the hotel), an opportunity to learn more about these prehistoric reptiles that have survived more than 2,000 years of evolution.

For thrill-seekers, head to Tivoli World, a gigantic amusement park located 35 minutes from the Marbella Club. On the programme: roller coasters, free falls, carousels and even a Ferris Wheel.

FOR THE PARENTS

Leave the children in the hands of the youth-club animators or babysitters (20€/h) and escape on the Andalusian roads to discover the four key sites of the region: the Picasso Museum in Malaga (1h), visit the Strait of Gibraltar (1h), the Alhambra of Granada (2h) and the Alcazar of Seville (2h30).

After these trips by car, take advantage of the hotel’s 800 sqm spa. It consists of a superb relaxation room overlooking the Mediterranean, a steam room, a sauna, a therapeutic indoor pool, but also 12 treatment rooms and care provided by qualified and experienced staff. Remember to book a double massage for a sweet moment together.

The most romantic among you will want to rent a catamaran and will be lost in the sea in search of the ideal spot to admire a sunset or a school of dolphins on the horizon.

Sports parents are happy to play for free at the 18-hole Marbella Club Golf Course, just 25 minutes from the hotel.

Just a stone’s throw away, discover a splendid equestrian centre which organizes every week numerous hikes in the most beautiful sites of the area.

Every year, the Marbella Club lends its gardens at the water’s edge to happy future brides who would like to say “yes” in a unique setting but also for special events such as baptisms, communions, bar-mitzvahs. and the renewal of vows.

My dream week-end at the Marbella Club

Médaillon de Violaine

A WARM WELCOME

Our journey to Andalusia began at Malaga Airport where a driver was waiting for us to join the Marbella Club Hotel. The children were eager to discover the resort and above all, the kids-club which apparently is a considerable asset of this iconic Andalusian destination!

When we arrived at the doors of the establishment, we were directly welcomed by a concierge and a doorman, both very friendly and relaxed. The concierge quickly offered me and my husband a glass of champagne.

A COMFORTABLE ROOM

The concierge then accompanied us to the room. It had a classic decoration and optimal comfort. The bedding was exceptional! The beauty products in the bathroom had a very pleasant scent.

AN INTEGRATED DESIGN KIDS-CLUB

The Marbella Club’s kids-club is really incredible. Very modern and design, it is orchestrated by qualified, attentive and passionate staff. It was really great that the mini club was located in the heart of the hotel and not relegated to a “corner” of the resort. We really feel that children are at the heart of the Marbella Club’s hotel project. Games and equipment were perfectly clean, neat and attractive. The kids-club program included a multitude of activities to be carried out in and around the hotel. Our children had a lot of fun and became friends in a very short time with their playmates. A joy to see for us parents, who are worried that they will not integrate because of the language barrier! Lesson learned: Children have an amazing adaptability!

WELLNESS AT THE SPA

In the afternoon, my husband and I joined the hotel’s very contemporary spa. We had booked a body treatment before taking a swim in the seawater pool. The masseuses were very caring, gifted and very professional. We also saw the fitness room, which contained first-class equipment. I was also interested in the yoga sessions provided by the hotel, but due to lack of time, I did not have the opportunity to enjoy them.

ANDALUSIAN GASTRONOMY

The grill restaurant is very good, very much in line with the idea of a gourmet grill in such an establishment. However, we were disappointed that the Beach Club was closed in the evening, but it was probably because we were out of season. Children’s menus are well planned throughout the hotel, especially at lunch, with pastries, brownies, sweets, all accompanied by colouring books.

CONCLUSION

In the end, we had a great experience at the Marbella Club, a “traditional” hotel, but one that has been able to highlight and modernize its assets: its kids-club and its superb spa. Special mention for the children’s vegetable garden where they can take care of plants and trees during their stay. We’ll be back!

Have a good trip!
