A flawless stay at Ikos Andalusia

At the beginning of September, we had the honour of being invited to the inauguration of the Ikos Andalusia hotel, located in the south of Spain. Let us tell you about this magical stay in one of the hotels of the famous Greek all-inclusive resort group.

After a short flight from Brussels to Malaga, we met our driver at the exit of the airport, he was waiting for us with a sign with our names on it.

As we were travelling in Covid-19 period, our temperature was taken before we let us into the beautiful car. Our friendly driver let us know that there were plugs and Wifi available during the ride and offered us two bottles of water, we felt like royalties.

As soon as we arrived at the hotel, and after a great warm welcome, we were immediately charmed by the atmosphere of the place. The entire Resort is designed and decorated with taste. The 7 infinity pools (including one adult only pool and one reserved for residents of Deluxe rooms) offer a breathtaking view of the beach and the sea.

We were lucky enough to stay in a Junior Suite Deluxe with sea view. In this luxurious room, nothing is left to chance: ultra-comfortable king-size bed, fully stocked minibar, a personal welcome note, large open areas, lots of storage space, …. All this in a stylish, refined and cosy decor.

The bathroom was also impeccable: spacious, with a bathtub and an Italian shower, separate toilet,… We found nothing to complain about. Special mention for the Anne Semonin’s beauty products at our disposal!

Finally, we particularly appreciated our balcony and its comfortable sofa and an outdoor lamp, ideal to read a good book before going to sleep and to enjoy the sunrise in the morning.

The hotel features 7 restaurants with different atmospheres and all included in the All-In formula, which was very much appreciated! There is really something for everyone: a Japanese restaurant, an Italian restaurant, a Greek restaurant, … A reservation is necessary for each restaurant as soon as you arrive at the hotel, which is very convenient so that you don’t have to stand in line every night.

At the Fresco restaurant, we loved the seafood pasta. For a good fish dish, the Beach Club is the place to be. Finally, don’t miss the amazing crème brûlée of the Provence restaurant, simply to die for!

Our favourite place to spend the evening was the beach bar, where we could admire a beautiful sunset, sitting around a brazier with a cocktail in hand.

We were given a tour of all the facilities provided to welcome the young guests. What we saw almost made us want to go back 15 years!

There is a great shaded outdoor playground next to the paddling pool which is constantly supervised by a lifeguard.

The Baby Club, Kids Club and Teens Club are decorated and arranged in total harmony with the age of the future participants. For example, there is a pool table and arcade games in the Teens Club.

The least we can say is that children of all ages won’t get bored!

For a family activity outside the resort, head to the small town of Estepona, located 15 minutes drive from the hotel (which will arrange to pick you up and drop you off at your convenience free of charge!).

It is a delight to stroll through the small pedestrian streets of the town, while admiring the giant and colourful « street art » type murals on the facades of the houses.

We didn’t have the opportunity to eat in the city but you can find good addresses in the practical guide of the surroundings areas proposed by the hotel.

Given the high temperatures of the region, we advise you to plan this outing of a few hours rather at the end of the afternoon with your little ones.

As you can imagine, we loved our « mission » at Ikos Andalusia.

In addition to all of the above, we would like to make special mention of the kindness of all members of the staff who are always looking after their guests.
