Enchanted break at Domaine du Mas de Pierre

During the last Easter holidays, we stayed at Terre Blanche and then at Le Domaine du Mas de Pierre, a secret address that is perfect relax with your family.

After spending three nights in Terre Blanche, we continued our discovery of Provence in a charming hotel ideally located a few kilometres from Nice: Le Domaine du Mas de Pierre. This five-star hotel benefits from an exceptional location. At the top of a hill, the domain offers a magnificent view of the surroundings of Saint-Paul-de-Vence.

The hotel is welcoming and authentic. It was love at first sight! I loved the typical romantic and comforting decoration of the South of France. Fountains and sculptures decorate the elegant Provencal gardens lined with olive trees and pine trees. The song of cicadas and birds gives the place a bucolic atmosphere enhanced by the wrought iron garden furniture.

Located on the ground floor, our family suite had a private terrace equipped with very comfortable deckchairs on which we took long naps. My son Achille had a good night’s sleep on the comfortable sofa bed next to the parental bed. On the first evening, just before bedtime, the housekeeper came knocking on the door to offer my son a small plush dog with the hotel logo. How sweet!

Le Domaine du Mas de Pierre is the ideal place to let yourself go. Take your time. Relax by the beautiful swimming pool heated to 29 degrees, in the whirlpool or in the hammam. Stroll through the greenhouse and the large aviary with its shimmering feathered parakeets. Admire the white dress of the doves flying in the garden. Relax in the spa. Enjoy a good meal on the terrace of the gourmet restaurant, with a glass of rosé in your hand. I really enjoyed these precious moments, made of simple things and shared with my son and husband.

During the French school holidays, the hotel opens a kids-club for its little guests. Despite the fact that it was closed during our stay, Achille was not bored for a single second! The swimming pool features a very shallow area where children can play safely. My son spent hours there! In the large garden there is a mini football pitch. A little further down, a ping-pong table and a bouncy castle offer great fun!

The restaurant offers personalized dishes, created by the chef according to the children’s wishes. To make up for the waiting time, colouring books are available for children. Many families have stayed at the hotel at the same time as us. Achille has made friends with them at the swimming pool, the restaurant and the playground.

I particularly recommend Le Domaine du Mas de Pierre to families who are looking for peace and quiet and for those for whom holidays go hand in hand with gastronomy and the art of living. Don’t forget to visit the village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence, one of the most beautiful and picturesque in France. A piece of advice: go there in the early evening, when the sun sets and the sky is tinged with orange. The view is magnificent. Take the opportunity to dine at the restaurant Le Tilleul, where we enjoyed the food and the kindness of the staff.
