At the very beginning of September 2023, I was lucky enough to fly to Morocco, and more specifically to the Agadir region. I’d never been to this region before, so the discovery was total, and what better way to start my vacation than with the discovery of a hidden gem in the region: the Domaine Villate Limoune.
Located just twenty minutes from Agadir airport, this exceptional Moroccan hotel, designed as a guest house offering top-of-the-range hotel services, is a veritable haven of peace. As soon as I arrived, the smiles of the staff and the fresh orange juice put me in a good mood, and what a surprise it was to discover where I would be sleeping for the next two nights… A lodge with a beautiful view over the hotel swimming pool!
I was staying in Lodge 1, and I have to say I’m still not over it. As you enter, you discover a vast space comprising a lounge area and a sleeping area with a huge bed! The superb shower room is tucked away behind the bedroom, along with a walk-in wardrobe that allows you to comfortably store the clothes of a family of 3. The atmosphere, as well as the decoration, immediately immerses us in a relaxed atmosphere, conducive to relaxation and vacations. Special mention should be made of the bedding; it was indeed particularly comfortable and I slept extremely well.
What a pleasure, finally, to wake up in the morning and have only a few steps to take a dip in the establishment’s magnificent swimming pool (which also has a section totally dedicated to children).
This hotel in Morocco is home to two restaurants: the first is a buffet restaurant, rather traditional in style, but it’s the second that particularly impressed me, the brand-new Massa! Incredible for its decor, this restaurant is equally incredible for what’s on its plates. On the menu: typical Moroccan dishes, but also a fine selection of Mediterranean dishes in general. The menu doesn’t go on and on, but that’s for the best: the flavours are there, the service is smiling and the prices remain very reasonable!
Let’s continue with the activities on offer. The one that really catches the eye is, of course, the estate’s animal park, which can be reached in a few steps via the stables! More than 150 animals live together in a beautiful area served by a small footpath. Ostriches, alpacas, meerkats, macaques, porcupines and zebras are just some of the animals you’ll come across on this incredible walk for children. The tour ends with a visit to the estate’s ponies and horses, which can be ridden by one of the hotel’s riders! The hotel’s trampoline, tennis (and soon padel) courts, soccer pitch and petanque area are also great ways to keep the family entertained without leaving the comfort of the estate.
If there’s anything to complain about, however, it’s the services dedicated specifically to children. No kids’ club for the moment, but it won’t be long now! In fact, the hotel team is undertaking major renovations (which will not detract from the comfort of the stay) to improve the experience for families. On the agenda: 20 new lodges adapted to 3- and 4-person families, as well as a kids’ club with indoor and outdoor activities, a spa with indoor pool, hammam and massage cabins, and a gym with private coaching!
In short, the estate is already a little gem in a region rich in mass tourism establishments, and it will be even better once the work is completed. All I have to do now is book my stay next year to check out the progress of this magnificent hotel!
