ACCOMMODATION
With its children’s room that can accommodate two toddlers or a teenager, the Family Suite Pool Villa (634 sqm) is ideal for small tribes. Very bright thanks to its panoramic windows that rise from floor to ceiling, the property enjoys a superb view of the surrounding nature. You will benefit more once night falls from the observation post of the villa. It is up there, installed in an outside living room in mezzanine, that your children can observe the constellations like real astronomers. The residence is splendid, comfortable and nicely decorated. Parents love the private pool just steps from the beach.
Large families stay in the Private Reserve, an architectural gem of 5,540 sqm built around a gigantic lagoon pool and a jungle of palm trees. The children rush into the pool from their own slide on the first floor of the villa. This residence is nothing less than an immense playground surrounded by a magnificent outdoor living space that invites you to share and relax. Parents enjoy daily spa treatments (massages, treatments and sauna) and their own gym. Its maximum capacity is 18 adults and 3 children.
GASTRONOMY
Every August, the hotel becomes the meeting place for many starred chefs. In 2018, the season begins with French chef Christian Le Squer (3 Michelin stars) and ends with Japanese chef Kenji Gyoten (3 stars) and Spanish chef Kiko Moya (2 stars).
Families staying at Soneva Fushi enjoy Chef Sobah’s cuisine throughout the year. Often crowned “Best Chef in the Maldives”, he runs two of the resort’s restaurants: Fresh in the Garden and Sobah’s Restaurant, located on the beach of an uninhabited island just 15 minutes from the hotel.
Gourmands gather around the Mihiree Mitha buffet for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
The Down to Earth by Ravi brigade offers family-friendly lunches and the Out of the Blue serves international cuisine. Fans of Japanese cuisine are delighted to order their favorite dishes at Nikki @Out of the Blue.
The most intimate get together is at Once Upon a Table restaurant. It is here that eight guests can savour every Monday, Thursday and Sunday noon the cooking of great starred chefs. Eight seats are also set up at the outdoor restaurant So Bespoke. Headed by Japanese chef Katsuhiro To, you’ll enjoy exquisite grills, just like the Chinese Kitchen adds delicious woks to the menu. Do not forget to accompany your dishes with a good bottle of wine!
If you prefer cocktails, do not miss the Bar(a)bara! Connoisseurs then visit The Bar and Cellar‘s collection of 200 alcoholic beverages. Smoothies, tea and coffee are also served.
Children also have their favorite gourmet address at Senova Fushi. All flock to So Cool with its 1001 flavors of ice cream and chocolate. The parents make an obligatory visit to the So Delicate shop, which offers a fine selection of hams, cold cuts, cheeses and jams.
