Looking for sunshine and the good life? Next stop: Greece! This country, with a rich historical and cultural heritage, holds many secrets that amaze all traveling families.  Ionian Islands (which are home to, for instance, the famous Corfu island), passing by the Crete Island and the Chalkidiki Island, we will involve you in a sensory trip towards one of the most beautiful Mediterranean destinations. On the program: dream hotels, baby clubs and must-see sites.

The Chalkidiki Island, or the secret paradise

Sani-Beach-Greece-with-baby-Porto-Sani

Located in the largest and the most northerly region of Greece, the Greek Macedonia, the sumptuous peninsula of Chalkidiki, known as the name of Halkidiki, remains to this day one of the favorite family destinations. Organized around the North capital, Thessaloniki, and the Mount Athos, it spreads its three demes in a delicious shade of blue: the Aegean Sea. This is why we name Kassandra, Sithonia and Athos, names that evoke the ancient Greece and the Mediterranean heat.

What to visit in Halkidiki with your family? The surroundings of the Mount Athos on a cruise, the old fishing port, Pyrgadiaka or the Bousoulas beach where 180 bird species live.

Where to stay? At Porto Sani *****! Landmark establishment on the peninsula, the Porto Sani is the ideal place to stay for young parents. Designed for families, the hotel stands proudly on the Cap Sani headland, in the heart of an ecological reserve bordered by the Aegean Sea. For the youngest guests, who stay for free in case of booking for 5 nights or more, the establishment offers an exceptional babysitting service, as well as an extraordinary baby club for babies from 4 months to 4 years. In addition to this, numerous facilities are available to parents to cuddle their little ones (baby-phone, pacifier and emergency bottle, cosmetics, potty, strollers…).

Corfu, or the Emerald Island

Mithycal or mystical island, the beautiful Corfu is undeniably made for family trips with young children. Besides its extremely rich and varied flora and fauna – Audoin’s gull, golden eagles, sea turtles, monk seals and many others inhabit the island – it is the pleasant and sunny climate that charms the visitors. All in all, the destination promises a pleasant vacation in the Ionian Sea!

What to visit in Corfu with your family? The Amur canal, the Corfu Donkey Rescure, a wild area with many donkeys, the Angelokastro castle, the old town of Corfu, the monastery of Vlachernes, or the beaches Arillas Beach and Paleokastrista Beach.

Where to stay? At the MarBella Mar-Bella Collection *****! Its magnificent gardens and pretty private beach make it a real little corner of paradise. This resort offers parents the chance to relax, while children aged 4 months to 17 years are fully catered for in the various kids’ clubs. The family rooms are beautifully decorated and spacious. They can accommodate a family of 2 adults and 2 children. Suites with private pools are ideal for larger families. All the restaurants in this beautiful complex offer children’s menus and all the necessary facilities for the little ones. Italian restaurants, international cuisine, Greek specialities or the flavours of the sea, there’s something for everyone! Not forgetting the M Bar and its delicious cocktails for mum and dad. As you can see, this is a wonderful place with plenty of activities for all the family. The seawater pool is superb, but like us, your heart will certainly go out to the freshwater pool, which has a beautiful waterfall and a water play area.

The Peloponnese, or the unmissable

Birthplace of the ancient Greek civilization, the Peloponnese promises an exotic vacation. There, you can visit the Corinth Canal, the gateway to the region that connects the Aegean Sea to the Ionian Sea, the island of Hydra, the caves and caverns of Pyrgos or the very charming village of Limeni in the Magne region. Because the region deserves to be explored, and because, let’s not forget, travels make you young, rent a car and travel the small Peloponnesian roads according to your desires.

What to visit in the Peloponnese with your family? The old town of Nauplius and the Palmède Fort, the natural and revitilizing region of Magne and the picturesque village of Gerolimenas, the city of Monemvasia perched on a rock or the archaelogical site of Mystra.

Where to stay? In the southwest of the Peloponnese peninsula, The Westin Resort, Costa Navarino ***** has plenty to offer. While the playground and Aqua Park are perfect for family fun, Mum and Dad may want to explore the area or enjoy some time alone. An intimate and privileged destination, The Westin Resort offers its youngest guests clubs divided into two sections: the Cocoon Nursery (4 months to 4 years) and the SandCastle (4 to 12 years). In addition, children can be looked after by carefully selected babysitters. The hotel’s spa is not just for parents either! Even the youngest guests are entitled to a moment of relaxation and treatments specially adapted to their skin and age.
